Bob Blaylock is a man whose life defines the words, "Gentle Giant." From the gentle tone of his voice to the slow, easy manner in which he tells his stories--and they are just that, stories--Bob is a man with a humble, kind spirit. He loves to make people laugh, and he does that a lot. His quiet, humble attitude makes the punch lines so much funnier
because they are so unexpected.

Standing 6' 7" tall, Bob towers head and shoulders above most of the rest of us. He moves about in a languid, easy manner, almost as if he deliberately makes an effort to keep from appearing menacing or imposing on us "little" people. Bobby Joe Blaylock is the son of William Robert Blaylock and Mollie Blanche Canter.

Bobby Joe accompanied Gail Garrett and Judy Kilpatrick to the Hartsock Cemetery so we could visit the graves
of some of our ancestors. The 3 of us share these great-grandparents, Joseph M. Blaylock and Barbra Ellen Felty. (See photo left.)

Bob, unlike Gail and Judy, had an opportunity to get to know Joe before he died. According to Bob, Joe Blaylock was a very humble man. Bob just couldn't emphasize enough
what a humble man Joe was. (Looks like Bob is a lot like his great-grandfather. I wonder if Joe had the same wit
and sense of humor.)
